Each year, on the first Friday in October, the Manufacturing Institute encourages the celebration of Manufacturing Day with the objective of showcasing new technologies and innovative processes to young generations. It provides the opportunity to talk to students and the community about the different talent requirements and career opportunities in this industry.
In Belton, we are kicking off our celebration on Tuesday, September 28th with a Manufacturing Day proclamation for Friday October 1st, 2021, by the Mayor and City Council.
Following careful protocols due to the pandemic, we partnered with the Belton Independent School District to showcase our manufacturers to students. On Friday, October 1st, three of our local companies: TRU, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing and Belltec Industries will be presenting to Belton ISD high school students at the two different campuses. Company representatives will engage in conversations with the students about their products, processes, and technologies, as well as the available jobs and career opportunities they offer locally.
In addition, BEDC will be running an ad in the Belton Journal during the month of October to recognize the manufacturing companies operating in our community.
Lastly, BEDC staff will be delivering cupcakes to our local companies so we can share and celebrate Manufacturing Day with their team!
